BOND Events, together with rise, announce the launch of rise in the city; a unique event raising money for local entrepreneurs in Lesotho, Africa.
Manhattan has been split into 100 virtual blocks. Artists, designers and architecture firms from over 15 States and 11 countries ranging from North & South America, Asia and Europe are busy creating pieces of art representing a block infused with elements of Lesotho culture.
All artworks will be exhibited and auctioned at the event on October 25 at the Angel Orensanz Foundation. Up to 500 influencers from the design and architecture community will attend the event. Tickets are available for purchase online.
The winning artist will be selected by a high profile panel of judges and awarded on the night. 100% of proceeds will go to the first rise project in Lesotho, covering the construction costs of an accommodation block at an orphanage and provide much needed entrepreneurship training to unemployed youth.
“The response has been overwhelmingly positive. People are loving the creative and innovative approach we have taken to engage the international design community,” says rise’s Founder Daniela Gusman.
