Edmundo Bettencourt Funchal City Literary Award

In order to honor the great figure of letters, Edmundo Bettencourt, the Municipality of Funchal decided to reactivate the Literary Award, inactive since 2012. This award has the general objective of promoting the production of Portuguese language originals, encourages the taste for creating literary texts and disseminating the name of its honorable patron. The prize to be awarded is above all justified by the recognition that the Municipality gives not only to the importance of literature as an art, but also as a cultural and civic development activity.
