Biography

 

Born 1961, Sao Paulo, Brazil

 

Lives and works in Rio de Janeiro

 

Both a painter and a sculptor, he studied metal engraving at Sergio Fingermann Atelier and graduated with a degree in Architecture from the College of Architecture and Urbanism of Sao Paulo University in 1984.

 

In the 80’s, he was part of Grupo Casa 7 in Sao Paulo. Between 1989 and 1992 he lived in Berlin and Cologne, Germany.

 

Among other exhibitions, Carvalhosa has participated in Sao Paulo International Bienal, Havana Bienal, ’20th Century Brazil Bienal’, Mercosul Bienal, ‘Cote a Cote Art Contamporain du Brezil’, at CAPC, in Bordeaux, France.
