The Arte Institute has the pleasure to present the workshop ‘Circumnavigation: Fernão de Magalhães’ by Rute Ventura in Boston.

Portuguese-American third and fourth grader students from Martin Luther King Open School will embark on an artistic adventure celebrating the first world’s circumnavigation led by the Portuguese explorer Fernão de Magalhães, in 1519. Students will design an oceanscape mural featuring the carracks’ sailing ships, while learning the art techniques of the, 500 years old blue and white Portuguese tile tradition.
