Arte Institute and RHI Initiative present “met-AMOR-phose” by Maria de Vasconcelos at RHI Stage.
Created by Maria de Vasconcelos in collaboration with the choreographer Clébio Oliveira Based on the story “The little hungry caterpillar” by Eric Carle. A play for babies from 9 months to 6 years.
“met-AMOR-phose” was born from the desire of creating a play taht appeals to very young audiences. The research and creative process of the play was like a dive through the origins of communication. The goal was to find simplicity creating a poetic and sensory world. Through the language of the Object Theatre, sound environments and Dance, the actress tells, without using words, the metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly.
For almost all babies, this moment becomes their first theatrical experience and therefore the play seeks a connection with the audience in an intimate environment. The imagination of the children is stimulated in a warm and gentle atmosphere. The play develops poetic moments that appeal to the senses of the audience.
