ProVerbo Annual Gala
ProVerbo has officially announced this year’s “Língua Portuguesa em Festa” Annual Gala. The event will take place on October 21, at Sport Club Português, at 7 p.m.
ProVerbo will be celebrating a decade of existence with performances by Portuguese musicians Gonçalo da Câmara Pereira and the Rhode Island trio Guitarras do Atlântico.
As in previous Galas, ProVerbo will be paying tribute to prominent individuals in the Newark Portuguese Community, who have had a proactive, positive role in the community. This years selected individuals are Isabel Valente Manata, João Machado, David Couto and Manuela Barradas. Also selected is Carlos Ferreira, whose band “At a Distance” has performed at the Summer Nights Series organized by Arte Institute at Union Square Park, during last the Summer.
