The NY Portuguese Short Film Festival (NYPSFF) was the first Portuguese short film festival in the United States.
It showcases the freshest short film production from Portugal, including fiction, animation and documentary.
This festival aims at promoting the best work of new generation of young Portuguese filmmakers, by providing them with an opportunity to screen their movies in US, Brazil, United Kingdom, Angola and Portugal.
The official selection for the V Edition of NYPSFF was made by a judging panel composed by film experts from the US, Brazil and Portugal.
For the first time, the NYPSFF is partnering with Panorama Europe Film Festival, to present a special selection of current short animated European films curated and organized by Anna Ida Orosz, Kristyna Milde and Zita Vadasz as part of the NYPSFF 2015.
Panorama Europe 2015, the seventh edition of this vital film festival, presented by Museum of the Moving Image and the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC), returns to the Museum and the Bohemian National Hall with a slate of sixteen new features. It showcases the best in European filmmaking by introducing a wide-ranging selection of contemporary cinema in varying genres that cover many current social and cultural themes. “Panorama Europe is the only festival in New York showcasing such a comprehensive selection of European films, as well the largest collaborative event of the EUNIC members in New York, which includes the European cultural institutes, consulates, and the European Union Delegation to the United Nations.” says Kristyna Milde, the Head of the Panorama Europe Festival Board.
