Luiz Caracol & Bule-Bule in Argentina

Luiz Caracol & Bule-Bule in Argentina

The Arte Institute is pleased to support Luiz Caracol & Bule-Bule tour in Argentina between 2 – 13 October, 2019. The shows will take place in Buenos Aires, Rosario, Santa Fe and Tostado.

About Bule-Bule:

”We created “New Traditional Dances” from the rhythmic roots and movements which are common to Portuguese, African and Brazilian cultures.”

This group came up after an invitation from the Lisbon Council in the summer of 2016 to work with a group of refugee men from Syria, Eritrea and Nigeria living in Lisbon. Together, Bule-Bule worked on the music and dance of each country – including Portugal – finding common bridges across the universal languages of rhythm and movement. They built a ball that took place in Ribeira das Naus where participants and the public intersected in an hour of sharing, discoveries, smiles and a lot of joy.

Since then, Bule-Bule has been working on the idea of the “New Traditional Dances” by mixing the languages of traditional and contemporary/creative dance with new soundtracks, new arrangements that transform the music of now and then.
