Arte Institute suggests the exhibition “Between the Lines” by Lydia Reinhold at Museu do Oriente.

Biography
Lydia Reinhold was born in Belgium.
She settled in Portugal in 1976 but has lived for long periods abroad. She graduated in Roman Philology at Brusselʼs University, attended several art instituiions in Brussels, as well as the Ottawa School of Art and ARCO in Lisbon where she also tought etching.
Between 1994 and 2003 she collaborated with several portuguese museums and instuitions such as the Museu de Arte Antiga, Museu do Azulejo, Museu do Chiado, Museu do Traje, Museu de Conímbriga, Museu Soares dos Reis, as well as the CCB (Centro Cultural de Belém) and the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum with works on silk inspired by the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions of these instituitions. She was also invited to present a collection of a hundred woks for the Portuguese Pavilion of the Lisbon Universal Exhibition (EXPO 98)
1999- solo exhibition Reflections: an homage to Vieira da Silva- at the Mãe de Agua Museum, Lisbon
2001- group exhibition at the Kfar Shmaryau Cultural center in Israel.
2003- solo exhibition A world of silk at the Centro de Arte de São Bento (CASB), Lisbon.
2004- solo exibition-100% SEDA/SOIE/SILK- at the CASB and Urban Cubes, 12 wooden cubes scuptures at the CPS, Portuguese Center of Serigraphy. Represented by the CPS in the art show Estampa in Madrid She took part in a exhibition at the Gallery Dona Tareja-Antique on the theme of Portugal and the Orient. In October and November of the same year,with a grant of the Fundação Oriente, she went to Hanghzou, China, to study silk techniques and artistic procedures.
2005- group exhibition at the OB.arte gallery, Barcelona, under the title Architectures.
2008- solo exhibition Possible ways at the gallery Tiempos Modernos, Madrid.
2009- Lydia opens her studio in New York where she is currently working. Between 2009 and 2011, 4 group shows at Sweet Lorraine Gallery, Brooklyn, NY.
2010- solo exhibition at Sweet Lorraine Gallery, Brooklyn, NY
2011- group show PLAY, at the Textile Art Center, Brooklyn, NY. She also participates in the Portuguese Brazilian Festival Art Exhibition in Manhattan
2012- group exhibition Women: Realizing Perpctives, One Gallery, Newark, NJ
