RHI Stage – Concert by Cristina Clara

Arte Institute and RHI Iniciative presents a concert by Cristina Clara at RHI Stage.

Cristina Clara is now presenting a show that reflects de dialogue between fado (portuguese traditional urban song) and popular brazilian music, specifically choro. Handpicked words and poems, songs that are really pictures of a great travel around traditional culture – lived in present days Lisbon-, and a team of brilliant musicians who took part and have been chosen for their role in the plot. 

The album will soon be available on digital platforms and bring together both universes. Three charismatic Portuguese Guitars of very different personalities and a strong presence in the fado scenario. Pedro de Castro, Bernardo Couto and Sandro Costa-, interpret each tune personally, according to their identity; João Filipe, a representative expert of his generation, plays acoustic guitar; Carlos Barretto (double bass), Francisco Gaspar (acoustic bass) and the Brazilian musician Rafael Calegari (electric bass), 3 very different universes, 3 generations of bass players. Also in percussion, two major art representatives, Sami Tarik (brazilian) and Quiné Teles (portuguese). 

João Ventura, virtuoso pianist from the northeast in Brazil and Bárbara Piperno, an Italian flutist in love with chorinho, constitute the dreamlike sound ingredients of this formation. Edu Miranda (mandolin and cavaquinho) and Pedro Loch (classical guitar) share the production together with the singer, excellent translators of the dream become music. The original tunes include the compositions of Pedro Loch, João David Almeida and Tatiana Cobbett, in addition to the singer herself who signs the lyrics to a fado once sung by Hermínia Silva, one of her great inspirations for the interpretative richness and sense of humor. 

Currently Cristina Clara presents her show with Pedro Loch (acoustic guitar).
