ARTE BOX — Artistas do Oeste Português | Rio de Janeiro

Arte Institute presents the exhibition “Artistas do Oeste Português”, part of the Arte Box project, at Rio de Janeiro’s International Airport (RIOgaleão). The exhibition is included in the programme of Mostra Portugal Contemporâneo no Brasil, an initiative dedicated to promoting Portuguese creativity and strengthening cultural exchange between Portugal and Brazil.

From November 5, 2025 to January 5, 2026, RIOgaleão hosts works by ten contemporary artists from Portugal’s Oeste region, highlighting the diversity, innovation, and dynamism of artistic production in this part of the country.

The exhibition features works by Helena Valsecchi, Feliciano Costa, Rui Anastácio, Maria Matias, Ema M (Margarida Prieto), Thierry Ferreira, Joana Maria Sousa, André Avelar, Cinara Saiónára, and Burry Buermans. Through different languages, techniques, and materials, their works reflect multiple perspectives of contemporary Portuguese art.

With free admission, the exhibition invites travelers and visitors to engage with Portuguese art in a non-conventional setting, transforming the airport transit experience into a moment of cultural discovery.
The exhibition will remain open to the public until the end of January 2026.
