Intimate Strangers is a collaboration between Portuguese singer-songwriter Sara Serpa and Nigerian writer Emmanuel Iduma, inspired by Iduma’s latest book, A Stranger’s Pose, a unique blend of travelogue, reflections and poetry, with a foreword by Teju Cole. In a combination of music, text, image, and field recordings made by Iduma during his travels through different African countries, Intimate Strangers explores themes of migration, mourning, absence, and desire in what Iduma calls “an atlas of a world without borders.”

Emmanuel Iduma – text
Sara Serpa – voice, composition
Sofía Rei, Aubrey Johnson – voice
Erin Pettigrew – spoken word
Fabian Almazan – piano
Qasim Naqvi – modular synth
