RHI Stage – Exhibition of the film Arroz Doce

16 May 2020, 9:00pm

Arte Institute and RHI Initiative presents the exhibition of the film “Arroz Doce” at RHI Stage.

Ana revises her memories, getting to know a little about herself and her family. Serene and smoothly tells us how to grow up surrounded by love and some family dysfunction made her the woman she is. While remembering the secret of her grandmother’s rice pudding recipe, she makes us discover a beautiful love story.

At the invitation of A Buzico! to celebrate World Theater Day 2020, this year in prophylactic confinement due to COVID – 19 prevention measures, I revisited the monologue “Arroz Doce”, written by João Ascenso. “Arroz Doce” debuted on May 17, 2019, at Junta de Freguesia da Misericórdia, in the official celebrations of the International Day Against Homophobia.

More information: “Arroz Doce” text and staging for theater by João Ascenco, theater and video interpretation by Anaísa Raquel, a production for theatre by Buzico! Produções and Trópico de Artes.

At the time of its debut, this show was accompanied by the texts, also by the same author, “Quinto Esquerdo” and “Mariposa”, played respectively by Ricardo Brito Diniz and Ruben Pêro.
