Exhibition ‘Porto/Paris/Nova Iorque’ by Isabel Pavão

Exhibition ‘Porto/Paris/Nova Iorque’ by Isabel Pavão

The Arte Institute suggests the exhibition ‘Porto/Paris/Nova Iorque’ by Isabel Pavão, between March 15 and April 16, at Auditório e Galeria Pintor Fernando de Azevedo da SNBA. In the context of the opening on March 15, there will be a presentation of Laura Castro’s book at 5.00 PM, followed by a visit to the exhibition at 6.00 PM.

Isabel Pavão’s works, dated 2018 and 2019, which constitute the Impressions Series occupy the center of this exhibition. Complementing this recent production are pieces from previous series: Vestiges, Cartographies, Atmospheres.

This illustrates the transit between Porto, Paris and New York, accomplished by the artist in both directions, from which result the references that her work incorporates, the cultural resonances that manifest and the artistic problematics, and of another nature, that she proposes to us.

The exhibited material reveals the permanence of the processes of conception, composition, and materialization of painting, explored since her inaugural series. It also reveals the way he relates the external universe and the intimate sphere, sometimes understanding them as a mirror, sometimes fragmenting them in layers and disarticulating them into shards.
