SYNOPSIS
By promoting art in non-traditional spaces, the exhibition, held at different locations of the Dulles International Airport, opens doors to Portuguese artists and their art. Arte Box reinforces the Arte Institute’s mission of disseminating Portugal as a brand to be known worldwide, bringing culture and its artistic elements to a venue that is a melting pot of people from every corner of the globe, with diferent nationalities, perspectives, and experiences.
The project includes pieces from the collection of Fundação Luso-Americana para o Desenvolvimento by Pedro Cabrita Reis, António Sena, Pepe Diniz, João Queiroz, Luísa Correia Pereira and Ana Hatherly, and two works by Júlio Pomar, ceded by Acervo Histórico da Caixa Geral de Depósitos. There is also room for works by artists with an international career, such as Marta de Menezes and Vasco Gargalo, and for works by emerging artists, such as André Araújo, Ânia Pais, Diana Mordido Aires, Maria Contreras, Nuno Sousa and Sally Santiago, who will exhibit pieces focused on art and science.
Let yourself be warmed by these works while Washington welcomes you! Unbox Portuguese contemporary culture!
