SUMMARY:Terra Livre | Concert
DESCRIPTION:Terra Livre | Concert\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nSeptember\, 2024\n“Terra Livre” is the exploratory album/territory of the two adventurous musicians João Morais (better known as O GAJO) and Ricardo Vignini. Portugal and Brazil in close affinity and two cultures in one voice. \nOn stage\, the violas bring all their cultural baggage\, their characteristic sound and a unique and original repertoire. The result of a musical empathy that has become an innovative friendship\, capable of crossing borders and oceans. \nThe transatlantic meeting of the two musicians took place in 2022 via social media. A musical rapport triggered a first contact with Vignini’s participation in GAJO’s album “Não Lugar” (2023)\, which quickly turned into a regular exchange of ideas and the desire to cross the two artistic and cultural worlds that characterize these players. The result was “Terra Livre”. \nIn Brazil\, Ricardo Vignini\, who has had a solo career for 20 years\, takes his Viola Caipira on great journeys from traditional references to more personalized and contemporary approaches. In Portugal\, O GAJO follows a similar path\, taking his traditional Viola Campaniça into more urban and contemporary artistic territories\, inspired by his rock music career of over 25 years. \nYou can see them at:\nSESC Jundiaí – September 1st\nSteel Bar – September 3rd\nEspaço Musical S&T – September 6th\nSESC Campinas – September 7th\nFestival Choro in Jazz – September 8th

SUMMARY:Arte Box | Washington Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Arte Box \n\n\n\n\n\n  \nDulles Airport \nThis is the dawn I was waiting for\nThe first day\, whole and clean\,\nWhere we emerge from the night and the silence\nAnd free we inhabit the substance of time.\nSophia De Mello Breyner (free translation)\nLiberdade – Freedom \nAs part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution in Portugal\, which returned freedom to the Portuguese people and the countries that\, at that time\, were still Portuguese colonies\, we invited artists from these countries to celebrate the event and freedom itself – a value that was so necessary at the time\, as it is today. \nThese artworks were created by CPLP – Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries – artists (Abraão Vicente\, Bruno Miguel\, Carolina M Correia\, Cinara Saiónára\, Guilherme Atanásio\, Maria Barreira\, Nah Pinheiro\, Sandrine Cordeiro\, Susa Monteiro e Thierry Ferreira) who\, through their art\, celebrate their concept of freedom\, materializing it in very different ways.\nTake a look at this exhibition if you’re passing through Dulles Airport\, in Washington\, until the end of September.
