“AS VIAGENS DE D. PEDRO II”
The exhibition enters its final month on display at Galeão International Airport, in Rio de Janeiro, inviting the public to dive into the journey of a traveling Emperor, driven by scientific curiosity and an attentive, sensitive, and human gaze.
Through documents such as travel diaries, itineraries, and visit records, the exhibition reveals a Dom Pedro II as an observer and scholar, who traveled across Brazil and several countries around the world, recording scientific discoveries, describing civilizations, and building a rich panorama of the second half of the 19th century.
The project is an initiative of Arte Institute in partnership with Museu Imperial, with the support of Real Gabinete Português de Leitura and AROCA/Clube.
Curated by Maurício Vicente Ferreira Jr., Director of Museu Imperial.
