The exhibition Nazaré: Beyond the Wave by Portuguese photographer Martim A. Meirelles is currently on display at Rio de Janeiro International Airport (Galeão), offering travelers a visual journey into the heart of the iconic Portuguese town of Nazaré.

Through a poetic and contemporary lens, Meirelles captures not only the town’s famed giant waves but also the cultural richness, everyday life, and deep connection of its people to the sea.

The exhibition is part of the Arte Box program by Arte Institute — a project that brings Portuguese contemporary art exhibitions to airports around the world, making Lusophone culture visible in global public spaces.
