On October 11, 2025, the legendary Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall becomes the stage for a moving tribute to the voice that defined Portugal: Amália Rodrigues.
In Amália in América – Beyond Fado, the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Jan Wierzba, joins voices with three of Portugal’s most acclaimed singers:
Cristina Branco, Raquel Tavares and Ricardo Ribeiro.
Together, they will reinterpret the legacy of Amália, crossing boundaries of time and genre — honoring her timeless spirit while exploring how far fado can go.
