RHI Stage – Film My Jewish Friends by Daniel Nave

25 June 2020, 10:00pm

Arte Institute and RHI Initiative present the film “My Jewish Friends” by Daniel Nave at RHI Stage.

The last crypto Jews of Portugal residing in Belmonte, continue to fulfill the hereditary rituals of their ancestors and try to maintain the union of the community.

On the other hand, the younger ones leave for the Promised Land, where they hope to find the essence of their religion and a more prosperous life.

Those who stay here, resist and adapt to the new changes, feeding their spirit with daily worship, now without the secrecy of other times. However, the fears remain and the memories of the persecutions still populate their minds
