From the Director

The Arte Institute was founded on 11 April 2011 to promote culture and showcase art from Portugal. It is a space that offers a creative environment for Portuguese artists in the field of art, literature, music, dance and film. We serve as a platform for inter-cultural inspiration and as a catalyst for an innovative artistic dialogue between the many communities in New York and Portuguese artists.

I would like to invite all artists from Portugal and around the world to make full use of our institute, its events, platforms and artistic dialogues. Send us your work, your ideas, your thoughts to make our platform a constant and lively part of New York’s world of art.
