A Maior Flor do Mundo is a sensational story! In it, Saramago becomes a character and tells how he always wanted to write a children’s book about a boy who grows the biggest tree in the world. According to him, the story, if put on paper, “would be the most beautiful of all that have been written since the time of fairy tales and enchanted princesses.”
